Earth Day Continues
Native Grass Planting
Join us for a special volunteer event as we continue our Earth Day efforts! On Earth Day, we prepared a dedicated area at the back of Redwood Heights Park (near the Young Street entrance) to plant native grasses generously provided by the Friends of Sausal Creek. Now, we need your help to bring this project to life! Come lend a hand, connect with nature, and make a lasting impact on our local park. Volunteers of all ages are welcome!

Annual Earth Day Event 2024
More than 1 billion people in 192 countries now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
We invite you to participate and help further climate action worldwide. Oakland is celebrating its 30th Earth Day on April 20th, and RHA is hosting an Earth Day event at Redwood Heights Park.
This event will center on expanding the butterfly garden, preparing a designated space for native grasses, and trimming existing succulents. We’re thrilled to persist in improving the park. Your involvement will contribute to conserving the crucial habitat butterflies require for survival, attracting more of these beautiful creatures to our broader community, and further enhancing the park’s beauty.
Please join us in sprucing up the park that serves as the hub of our community.
