Be an informed voter! The Redwood Heights Association hosted two candidate forums to help residents get to know the candidates running to represent them in Oakland. It was a great opportunity to learn what was important to them and how they plan to represent this community. The General Election is on November 8, 2022.

Oakland will have a new mayor next year as mayor Libby Schaaf is term-limited. The evening gave us a chance to learn more about candidates running to lead our city. Treva Reid, Seneca Scott, Sheng Thao, Loren Taylor, and Allyssa Victory participated in this event.
Oakland City Council District 4

The City Council consists of one representative from each of the seven districts and one at-large representative. The Council sets goals and priorities for the City. It also approves the City budget, adopts ordinances to help the City serve its community members, and appoints members to various boards and commissions.
The candidates that participated in the candidate forum to represent District 4 were Janani Ramachandran and Nenna Joiner.
