Community Conversation: The Redwood Heights Park Skate Ramp | March 24
The Redwood Heights Association is excited to share an update about the skate ramp project at Redwood Heights Park. We invite you to join a community Zoom meeting to learn more about the planned ramp and hear about the next steps in the project.

The idea for a neighborhood skate ramp traces back to a 2017 community design workshop where neighbors gathered to explore a simple question: What is a Park? During that conversation, residents shared many ideas for how Redwood Heights Park could grow and serve the community in the years ahead.
Those ideas later came together into a “Dream Project” concept unveiled at the 2019 Love Your Park event. In 2024, the first part of that vision became a reality with the addition of the park pavilion. We are now excited to take the next step.
The Association has received a conditional use permit from the City of Oakland to install a neighborhood-scale skate ramp at Redwood Heights Park. The ramp will be a wooden structure that is constructed off-site and installed at the park. This project also represents an exciting milestone for the Association as our first major construction project.
As we move into the final design phase, we want to bring neighbors together to learn more about the project and share updates on what comes next. Community feedback will help inform final design details and practical considerations such as sound mitigation, signage, and expectations for ramp use.
During the meeting, we will:
- Share the history and vision behind the project
- Present the ramp design and location within the park
- Explain how the ramp will be constructed and installed
- Discuss the anticipated timeline
- Answer questions from the community
We hope you will join us for this conversation about the future of our local park.
